Just 12 km south of Florence, Villa Mangiacane is physically
located in the small village of Sant'Andrea in Percussina, in
the heart of Chianti Classico. The summer extends from San
Casciano in Val di Pesa to Greve in Chianti. The wine cellar
of Villa Mangiacane, built in 2005, is equipped with a highly
technological instrumentation. In the ancient cellar in the basement
of the villa, are kept the French oak barriques, partly
renewed every year, the production and vinification part are
composed by equipment ranging from the selection of grapes
coming from vineyards to the control of vat temperatures during
fermentation. A deep love and respect for the surrounding
nature and the preservation of its uniqueness and authenticity,
are the basis of the winery's philosophy which is in the process
of converting to an exclusively organic farming.
